A wish was born three years ago from our great passion for horses and for dressage in particular (a passion that some people often describe as a real illness). The wish was to move to the countryside to make our dream come true: what we wanted was to see our horses out the window. So we bought a farmstead in San Giacomo of Roccagrimalda (a few minutes from the Ovada and Novi Ligure toll-house). It is sorrounded by three hectares level ground and there we started to build what at the beginning was meant to be a private stable with our horses and those of some friends. However, as it always happens in these cases, the nine box stalls became many more and the structure, that had to be essential, now is fully equipped. Right now Scuderia San Giacomo has 22 box stalls, a sand drained and watered arena of 30x80, a covered horsewalker up to five horses, a 15 metres lunging ring, one hectar and a half divided into paddocks, two wash stalls, a tack room, a dressing room with shower and washroom facilities, a little room for members with vending machines for cold and hot beverages and a summer relax zone with the swimming pool. Furthermore, we are building an indoor riding arena (20x40). The main aim of the familiar management is horses welfare; the livery service provides: fodder (our own hay production, flaked cereals and carrots) distribuited in six different meals during the day to optimize its assimilation, the dust-free wood shaving layer that is daily cleaned and disinfected to prevent smell and bacteria, the paddock service (each box stall has its own paddock) and, for rainy days, there is the covered horsewalker where horses can walk for half an hour. Aus unserer großen Leidenschaft für Pferde und besonders für die Dressur (Leidenschaft, die häufig als echte Krankheit bezeichnet wird) entstand vor drei Jahren unser Wunsch, aufs Land zu ziehen, um unseren Traum zu verwirklichen: unsere Pferde vom Fenster aus zu sehen. Da haben wir unser Landhaus in San Giacomo di Roccagrimalda (nicht weit von Ovada und Novi Ligure entfernt ) gekauft, das von 3 ha Flachland umgeben ist, und wir haben mit dem Bau eines Reitstalls begonnen, der am Anfang als privat gedacht war und der unsere Pferde und die von einigen Freunden empfangen sollte. Wie es aber häufig in diesen Fällen passiert, sind dann die ersten 9 Boxen mehr geworden, und die Reitanlage, die sich zuerst auf das Wesentliche zu beschränken hatte, ist heute komplett mit allerlei Ausstattung. Scuderia San Giacomo verfügt heute über 22 Boxen, einen dränierten und bewässerten Sandreitplatz 30m x 80m, eine überdachte Schrittmaschine für 5 Pferde, einen Longierzirkel 15m, Paddocks über 1 ½ ha Land, zwei Waschboxen, ein Sattelzimmer, einen Umkleideraum mit Dusche und WC, ein kleines Reiterstübchen mit Getränkeautomat und ein sommerliches Relax-Areal mit Swimmingpool. Außerdem wird gerade eine Reithalle 20m x 40m aufgebaut. Unser im Familienbetrieb geführter Reitstall hat als Hauptziel das Wohlsein der Pferde; die Pension beinhaltet das Futter (Heu aus eigenem Anbau, Getreideflocken und Karotten), das 6 mal täglich zur Optimierung seiner Verwertung verteilt wird, Einstreu aus staubfreien Holzspänen, der täglich zur Vermeidung von Gerüchen und Bakterien saubergemacht und desinfiziert wird, den Paddock-Service (jede Box ist mit einem entsprechenden Paddock versehen) und an regnerischen Tagen die Schrittmaschine, (da die Außenpaddocks nicht verwendet werden können, bewegen sich die Pferde 30' in der Schrittmaschine). Dalla nostra grande passione per i cavalli, e per il dressage in particolare (passione che qualcuno spesso definisce vera e propria malattia) è nato il desiderio di trasferci a vivere in campagna per realizzare il nostro sogno: vedere i nostri cavalli dalla finestra. Abbiamo quindi acquistato la nostra cascina a San Giacomo di Roccagrimalda (pochi minuti dai caselli di Ovada e Novi Ligure), circondata da 3 ettari di terra pianeggiante, ed iniziato a costruire quella che inizialmente doveva essere una scuderia privata che ospitasse i nostri cavalli e quelli di alcuni amici;....ma come sempre succede in questi casi, da 9, i boxes sono diventati molti di più e la struttura, che doveva limitarsi all'essenziale, è oggi completa di ogni attrezzatura. Scuderia San Giacomo ha attualmente una capacità di 22 boxes, un campo in sabbia drenato e irrigato di dimensioni 30x80, un maneggio coperto 20x40, la giostra coperta per 5 cavalli, il tondino di 15mt per il lavoro alla corda, 1 ettaro e mezzo diviso in paddocks, due box lavaggio, la selleria, lo spogliatoio con doccia e servizi, un piccolo locale per i soci con distributori di bibite calde e fredde e una zona relax estiva dotata di piscina. La gestione è a livello famigliare ed ha come obiettivo il massimo benessere dei cavalli; la pensione comprende il foraggio (fieno di produzione propria, cereali fioccati e carote) che viene distribuito in 6 pasti durante la giornata per ottimizzare la sua assimilazione, la lettiera in truciolo depolverato pulita e disinfettata a fondo quotidianamente per evitare la formazione di odori e batteri, il servizio paddock (ogni box è dotato di paddock di pertinenza) e, nelle giornate piovose, il servizio giostra (non potendo utilizzare i paddocks i cavalli si muovono 30 minuti in giostra).
